Your body is at baggage claim at IAH, and your brain is still somewhere over the Atlantic. Long flights leave you drier than you realize, because cabin air is very dry. Add broken sleep, airport food, and a Monday meeting you cannot move, and you have the full jet lag package.
A travel recovery IV meets you at home or at your hotel, so your first stop back in Houston is recovery. An experienced medical professional sets up your infusion and continuously monitors the infusion until completion.
Signs the trip took more than your time
- A headache and heavy eyes that coffee is not solving
- Wide awake at 3 AM, useless at 3 PM
- Dry skin, a dry throat, and chapped lips from cabin air
- Brain fog through your first days back at work
- Off the cruise ship in Galveston feeling worse than when you boarded
- Business travel every other week, with each trip digging the hole deeper
A quick medical note: Long flights carry a small risk of blood clots. A swollen, painful calf or sudden shortness of breath after flying is an emergency. Go to the ER: that is not jet lag, and no IV should delay that visit.
How an IV helps you recover from travel
An IV cannot reset your body clock. Sunlight, meal timing, and a disciplined first night do that. What it can do is fix the dehydration that makes jet lag feel twice as bad, with a liter of fluids and electrolytes delivered directly to your bloodstream. Most IVs run 30 to 60 minutes.
B vitamins support energy while your schedule sorts itself out, magnesium may help you sleep at the local bedtime, and NAD+ is a favorite of frequent travelers for the deeper kind of tired that builds over a long itinerary.
Recommended IVs for jet lag
-
Myers Cocktail, $175.
The balanced landing pad: B-Complex, B12, vitamin C, glutathione, zinc, and magnesium. Our first recommendation for returning travelers. -
The Performance Flex, $300.
For the trip that was work on both ends: conferences, red-eyes, and back-to-back time zones. B-Complex, double B12, taurine, and 100mg of NAD. -
NAD+ IV, from $100.
Dosed from 100mg ($100) to 1000mg ($800). It infuses slowly for comfort, so plan for more time at higher doses.
Questions about IVs for jet lag
Can you really come to my hotel?
Yes. We regularly set up in homes, offices, and hotel rooms across Greater Houston and surrounding areas. Book with your hotel name and room number, and you never have to leave the room.
Should I get the IV before or after my flight?
Both work. After landing is the classic choice, to replace what the cabin air took. Some frequent flyers book a hydration IV the day before a long flight so they board topped off. If you land late, appointments after 8 PM carry a $100 fee and are subject to provider availability.
Will an IV cure my jet lag?
Nothing cures it in one step. Jet lag is a body clock problem, and light, sleep timing, and a day or two do the resetting. An IV may help with the dehydration and depletion that come along with it, which is a big part of why you feel so rough.
I just got off a cruise in Galveston. Do you come there?
Yes. Galveston is one of the cities we serve. Many cruise passengers book a Myers Cocktail ($175) at home or at a seawall hotel the day they get off the ship.
